Depart Australia to Tel Aviv on Cathay Pacific Airlines via Hong Kong.

Day 2Monday - May 18, 2020

Morning arrival to Tel Aviv, Israel.
Taking the coastal ‘Via Maris’ route north from Tel Aviv, we visit the Mediterranean port of Caesarea, site of Herod’s Palace, home of Cornelius and where Paul was brought to trial. Travel to Mt Carmel where Elijah challenged and defeated the Prophets of Baal. From the summit, you will have sweeping views of the Jezreel Valley. Arrive to Galilee for Overnight.

Day 3Tuesday - May 19, 2020

Morning devotions, a time of reflection and praise as we sail on the Sea of Galilee on board a boat crafted in the ancient design of the time of Jesus. Disembark at Nof Ginosar Kibbutz to view the remains of a 2,000-year-old fishing boat. Stand on the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Visit the ruins of Capernaum, the home of Jesus as well as the apostles Peter, Andrew, James and John and the tax collector Matthew. Celebrate the miracle of multiplication at Tabgha on the shores of the Sea. Enjoy a St Peters Fish lunch. Remainder of the day free to relax by the Sea of Galilee.

Day 4Wednesday - May 20, 2020

Visit Magdala sight of a 1st Century Synagogue. Pass by Cana, location of Jesus’ miracle of turning the water into wine. Revel in the magnificent view from the Mount of the Precipice over Tabor Mount. At Nazareth Village experience lifestyle as in the time of Jesus and participate in a Biblical meal with full explanation. Time will be given at the Yardnit Baptismal site on the Jordan River for those wishing to rededicate or be baptised. Overnight Galilee.

Day 5Thursday - May 21, 2020

Drive up to the Golan Heights. From Mt Bental there is a spectacular view into Syria. Caesarea Philippi at the headwaters of the Jordan River and base of Mt Hermon, is remembered as the location where Peter confessed Jesus as the Messiah. Hike through the Dan National Park to explore Tel Dan incorporating Abraham’s Gate. Overnight Galilee.

Day 6Friday - May 22, 2020

Travel south via the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean where we explore the many levels of history and civilisations in this Roman Decapolis city. Visit Qumran, a community of the Essenes and where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Bathe in the medicinal waters of the Dead Sea at En Boqeq. Overnight Dead Sea.

Day 7Saturday - May 23, 2020

Transported by cable car we ascend to the mighty fortress of Masada, Herod’s winter palace and the site of the last heroic resistance of a small band of Jews, against the Roman occupation. Enjoy the far-reaching views of Jordan, the Rift Valley and the Dead Sea. Walk through the Ein Gedi National Park to the falls which became a refuge from King Saul for David. Climb through the Mountains of Israel up to Jerusalem for a sunset panorama over the City of Gold from the Haas Boulevard. Overnight Jerusalem.

Day 8Sunday - May 24, 2020

On the Mount of Olives visit the Church of the Pater Noster (Our Father). We follow in the footsteps of Jesus from Ghandi Lookout on the Mount of Olives, down the Palm Sunday Walk, past Dominus Flevit to the Garden of Gethsemane and Church of All Nations. Enter the Old City through St Stephens Gate, also known as the Lion Gate. We visit St Anne’s and the Pool of Bethesda. Meander through colourful bazaar streets. Venture into the Jewish Quarter to the Herodian Mansion at the Wohl Museum. Refreshment awaits at the Middle East’s oldest Protestant Church, the Christ Church, where we visit the synagogue orientated Chapel and learn of the history of Christ Church. Remember the epic entry of General Allenby’s troops into Jerusalem and his speech from David’s Citadel, surrounded by Australian and New Zealand Soldiers. Explore newly discovered remains of the Palace of Herod the Great and later used as the Palace of Pontius Pilate.
Tonight, we will be treated to a Sound and Light Spectacular at David’s Citadel. Overnight Jerusalem.

Day 9Monday - May 25, 2020

Photo stop at the Knesset Menorah. Visit Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum and Memorial. View the Dead Sea Scrolls housed in the Shrine of the Book at the Israel Museum. The ¼ acre Scale Model of Jerusalem, including the Temple, as it appeared during the time of Jesus provides perspective on the layout of the Old City. Visit the City of David and Mt Zion, including the Upper Room. Overnight Jerusalem.

Day 10Tuesday - May 26, 2020

Chance an encounter with the community of the Samaritans who live on Mount Gerizim till this very day. Tour through the archeological findings of the Samaritan temple on top of Mount Gerizim. From the Lookout on the Biblical Mount Gerizim, [ Mount of Blessings] across to Mount Ebal, Mount of Cursing, view the area of Ancient Shechem [Nablas], the Tomb of Joseph and Jacob’s Well, known for the encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman. (John 4:4-42) Tel Shiloh, is the place to which the children of Israel brought the Tabernacle before it was taken to Jerusalem. The Tabernacle stood here for 369 years. Walk through the ancient excavations of the Biblical city Shiloh to visit the exposition “Until Shilo Comes”. Overnight Jerusalem

Day 11Wednesday - May 27, 2020

Start the day early with a visit to the Temple Mount (security permitting)
Explore the Biblical City of David where archeology confirms the Bible. Wade through the water tunnel engineered by King Hezekiah exiting at the Pool of Siloam. A head torch and sandshoes would be helpful in this subterranean passage. Other locations of Biblical Archaeological interest to be visited are: Davidson Centre, Huldah Gates, Southern Steps of the Temple. Finish the day in the Armenian Quarter to see the artistic crafts of this community, followed by a stroll along the Cardo the ancient colonnaded Roman Road through the Old City. Overnight Jerusalem.

Day 12Thursday - May 28, 2020

Free day in Jerusalem to relax and reflect or perhaps to do some last-minute shopping. Using the Bible as your guide do your own personal exploring of the Old City and surrounds. Overnight Jerusalem.

Day 13Friday - May 29, 2020

Morning devotions at the Garden Tomb. This ancient cemetery is a moving site where we recall the crucifixion and burial of Jesus. Spend time in these peaceful garden surroundings in prayer, song, fellowship and communion. Walk the Ramparts of the Old City Walls before viewing authentically recreated Temple worship instruments at the Temple Institute. Welcome in the beginning of Shabbat with the Jewish people at the Kotel (Western Wall). Overnight Jerusalem. (BD) Shabbat of a Lifetime meal in a Jewish home.

Day 14Saturday - May 30, 2020

Travel by the way of Emmaus to Tel Aviv, for overnight in by the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. (BD)

Day 15Sunday - May 31, 2020

Join Hillsong Tel Aviv for the morning worship service. In the late afternoon we make a refreshing seaside visit to the ancient Port of Yaffa, home of Simon the Tanner, and where Jonah embarked on his eventful voyage. Sumptuous farewell dinner in Yaffa. Overnight Tel Aviv.

Check out of your hotel after breakfast. Transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for departure flight home.

WHO IS WORLDWIDE VILLAGE LTD?

Worldwide Village LTD (WWV) is the travel agency, based in Switzerland, coordinating the booking process and collecting the payments for the Alpha Australia Israel tour, on behalf of Keshet Journeys.

HOW DO I JOIN THE ALPHA AUSTRALIA ISRAEL TOUR?

You can reserve your place on the Alpha Australia Israel Tour by registering on the website.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS?

The minimum number of participants for this tour is 40 people.

WHEN IS THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE?

All registrations must be made by February 17, 2020. Registrations beyond this date will only be accommodated based on availability.

WHAT DOCUMENTATION IS NECESSARY FOR TOUR REGISTRATION AND TRAVEL TO ISRAEL?

A current passport, valid for at least six months beyond the tour, is required. There are no exceptions to this policy. A travel visa is required for some countries. Please find out more about Israel’s visa policies regarding your country here: Israel’s Visa Policy.

HOW IS THE LODGING DETERMINED?

The registration pricing per tour participant is equal for double occupancy (two people sharing a room), or single occupancy.  If you want to share a room with a specific roommate, you must register together as a two guest registration. Different bedding arrangements can be requested. If you wish to add a roommate to your registration later on, please contact Keshet directly to do so.

WHAT IS THE PAYMENT SCHEDULE?

The full price of the land package is: based on double occupancy AU$6830.  A 10% non-refundable deposit per person is due at the time of registration.  Full payment is due 90 days before the start of the tour.

This tour price is based on a currency exchange rate USD / AUD at the time of quotation (June 2019).

AM I REQUIRED TO PURCHASE TRAVEL INSURANCE?

We urge you to purchase cancellation insurance and supplemental medical coverage (which covers preexisting conditions).

WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE TO CANCEL MY PARTICIPATION?

In addition to the Contractual Conditions of WorldWide Village Travel Ltd. the following cancellation policy is valid for your trip:

In case of cancellations by client, the following percentage of the total price will be charged:
Until 91 days prior the scheduled departure date: non-refundable down payment
90 – 0 days prior the scheduled departure date: 100% of total amount

Cancellation of additional services:

Unless otherwise stated, all by the client pre-booked additional services related are non-refundable after booking. In case of full cancellation of the tour by Keshet Journeys / WorldWide Village the down payment as well as pre-booked pre-/ and post-nights will be refunded.

WHAT MEDICAL PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED BEFORE TRAVELLING TO ISRAEL?

There are no specific immunizations or medications that are recommended or required for travel to Israel, but we advise you to connect with your primary care physician regarding his/her recommendations for you specifically. Please keep in mind that you can purchase the equivalent of most standard over-the-counter medicines in Israel. We would also encourage you to inform your health insurance provider that you will be traveling out of the country to determine your coverage and medical care options while in Israel.

HOW SAFE IS TRAVELING TO ISRAEL?

Your safety is our top priority. Israel is a very safe country to visit and tour, and we use a variety of measures to ensure the safety of all the participants on the ACC Senior Pastors Israel Tour. We also encourage you to take all the normal precautions as you would when traveling to any other city or country.

WHAT IS THE TIMEZONE IN ISRAEL?

Israel Standard Time (IST), is the standard time zone in Israel. It is two hours ahead of UTC and seven hours ahead of EST.

CAN I DRINK TAP WATER IN ISRAEL?

Tap water is safe to drink in Israel, but bottled water will also be available.

WILL I HAVE ACCESS TO WIFI?

Most hotels in Israel have WiFi available for hotel guests at standard rates. Many cafes and restaurants also offer complimentary WiFi services. Since September 2013, Tel Aviv offers a citywide free WiFi network which provides 80 free internet “hot spots”across the city. Most of the touring buses also have complimentary WIFI available.

WILL I BE ABLE TO USE MY CELL PHONE WHILE IN ISRAEL?

Please check with your mobile phone service provider to determine if you will need to purchase an International plan to use your phone in Israel. Local Israeli SIM cards with phone/data plans can be purchased during the registration process and will be delivered upon arrival in Israel. To make use of this service, your phone has to be “unlocked”.

ARE CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED IN ISRAEL?

You can use your credit/debit card to obtain NIS (New Israeli Shekels) at ATMs throughout Israel. Most Israeli hotels, restaurants and stores accept American Express, MasterCard and Visa cards as well. American dollars are accepted in many places in Israel; however, in most cases, change will be given in NIS.

WILL I NEED TO BRING A POWER ADAPTER?

Almost all hotel rooms are equipped with hairdryers, and all have shaver sockets. For other appliances, Israel’s electricity is 220V A/C, single phase 50-cycles; 110V-220V transformers can be used. Israeli outlets have three prongs, but European two-prong adapters usually work.
